
Dr. Rebekah Jacques
Forensic Pathologist
Dr. Jacques is a former youth in care who grew up in northern Ontario and is an Indigenous Advisor for Child Welfare PAC. She is a citizen of Metis Nation of Ontario and practices medicine in the field of Forensic Pathology. She graduated from Queen’s University in Kingston with a Doctor of Medicine in 2009. She completed her residency in Anatomical Pathology at the University of Western Ontario, followed by a residency in Forensic Pathology at the University of Toronto. She then went on to complete a MHSc in Bioethics Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto. Dr. Jacques has developed and delivered curriculum in forensic pathology at the undergraduate and graduate level. In addition, she has published peer-reviewed journal articles in the field of medicine and pathology. She has a special interest in Death Investigation Bioethics and the intersection between the medicolegal death investigation system and special populations (pediatric, seniors and Indigenous peoples).
