Advocate
Carlos McDonald is the Founder of the World Changer Society. In 2011, during his studies as a Child and Youth Worker at Humber College, Carlos McDonald began his career as a volunteer working alongside the Office of the Provincial Advocate for Children and Youth. Carlos became a panelist in the Youth Leaving Care hearings held at the Ontario Legislative Assembly that informed a provincial blueprint for change in the child welfare sector. In this capacity, he advocated alongside fellow indigenous youth leaders for youth rights in residential homes. In 2014, Carlos joined Barnes Management Group as a Youth Outreach Worker and provided consultation on mentoring utilizing his lived experience to help prioritize high-impact projects for youth. Carlos’ passion, dedication, and commitment to young people is well established as he has mentored many youth who have aged out of the child welfare system.
